Te Tai O Marokura is a non- profit organization established in 1981 by Miriama Teahipuia Kahu (nee Solomon) who was the first Māori Community Health workers in Te Waipounamu.

Te Tai O Marokura Health and Social Services is a hapu based service, situated at Takahanga Marae in Kaikoura.
Te Tai O Marokura provide co-operative health care and social services for all whanau who reside within the Ngati Kuri Takiwa.

our Services

Te Tai O Marokura provide many services and supports throughout the Ngati Kuri Takiwa. Each service has an aim to ensure all whanau within the Ngati Kuri Takiwa are proud and thriving.
Within Te Tai O Marokura there are many services offered. These services are a Mother and Pepi Kaiawhina, a Tamariki Ora Nurse, Whanau Ora Navigators, a Alcohol and Drug counsellor, Whanau Ora Nurses and a Covid-19 Kaiwhakapuawai Kaimahi.

Our well child Tamariki Ora Service is a free service that offers health and wellbeing visits to support parents/caregivers.

Drug & Alcohol 

Te Tai o Marokura offers support, assessments,  assistance and education around the impacts of alcohol and Other Drug Services with individuals and their whānau.

Whānau Ora is about whānau taking responsibility for whānau.  ​one that places whānau at the centre and builds on the strengths and capabilities already present in whānau.
