health day on the pa
Health day on the Pā is a vibrant celebration of whānau, connection, and wellbeing. It’s a day filled with fun, laughter, and activities for all ages, creating a welcoming space where community spirit truly shines. Alongside the celebrations, pop-up wellbeing organisation stalls are available, offering friendly kōrero, practical resources, and support to help whānau strengthen their hauora.
A key highlight of the day is the free vaccination clinic, making it easy and accessible for everyone to protect themselves and their loved ones. Vaccinations are available for the flu, MMR, whooping cough, tetanus boosters, and COVID-19 (including first, second, and booster doses). By removing barriers and offering these services with no cost or expectations, we empower whānau to take charge of their health and wellbeing.
In addition to the health day on the Pā, we also host a dedicated Health Day in the Hurunui area of our takiwā, continuing the celebration of health, unity, and connection. This ensures the positive impacts of the kaupapa reach across the wider community, supporting healthier, stronger whānau now and into the future.

PINK SHIRT DAY
On Pink Shirt Day, Te Tai o Marokura visits local schools and community businesses to raise awareness about bullying. We engage tamariki, rangatahi, and community members with fun games and activities while encouraging open conversations about kindness, respect, and standing up against bullying. This hands-on approach helps build a positive, supportive environment and reminds everyone that small actions can make a big difference in creating safe spaces for all.
